Sweet And Tangy Matcha Tiramisu!

Matcha pairs well with anything, from sweet red beans, to creamy and cheesy marscapone! So why not delight in the sweet, tangy, and umami flavors of this irresistible Matcha tiramisu! 

Ingredients: 

  1. Egg Yolks... 6 

  2. Sugar... 1 cup

  3. Matcha Powder... 1/2 Tbsp
    (more or less depending on your preference!)

  4. Marscapone Cheese... 1lb 

  5. Milk (or non-dairy alternatives)... 3/4 cup
     

For the Cake:

  1. 1/2 ~ 1 tbsp of Matcha mixed with 1/3 cup of warm water. 

  2. 2 Packets of lady-fingers
     

For The Whipped Cream: 

  1. Heavy Whipping Cream... 1 1/2 cups 

  2. A dash of lemon or vanilla 
     

For the topping:

  1. Lots of Matcha!


Directions: 

  1. Using a sauce pan, mix together the egg yolks, sugar, and milk and bring to a simmer for about 1~2 minutes. 

  2. Allow to cool briefly, and then store it in the refrigerator for about 1 to 2 hours to chill.  

  3. After it has chilled, ddd in the softened Marscapone. (And if you are feeling extra Matcha-happy, add about 1/2 tbsp of Matcha to the mixture for a super antioxidant boost! 

  4. Blend well with an electric whisk until well combined and creamy!

  5. Assemble the lady fingers in a shallow bowl. Meanwhile, whisk the Matcha powder with warm water. (the water should be warm, but not too hot).  

  6. Pour some of the warm Matcha over one layer of the lady fingers to soak. 

  7. After the lady fingers have soaked, top the bottom layer with the prepared whipped cream and chilled marscapone filling. Repeat until complete!

  8. Top with a generous amount of Matcha! (use high-quality ceremonial grade for the best flavor and most health benefits!)

  9. Now it's done! Pair with a fresh cup of Matcha and enjoy!
