Festive Matcha Christmas Treats You Need To Try This Holiday!

Christmas is just around the corner - what is a better way to celebrate than with naturally colorful green and red Matcha sweets! Not only are these Christmas treats festive and delicious, but they are also packed with immune boosting and anti-inflammatory antioxidants!  

So go ahead and make a warm frothy cup of Matcha to enjoy as you make these cute and delicious Christmas Matcha recipes! (Disclaimer: all of the pictures and recipes belong to the respective bloggers!) 

 

1) Healthy Christmas Tree Cupcakes With Matcha Icing! (GLUTEN-FREE & VEGAN)

What is Great About This Recipe:

  2. Creamy & Nutrient Rich Matcha Cashew Icing!

  3. Super cute and festive! 

Ingredients: 

For the Chocolate Cupcakes:

  • 1 cup (160g) buckwheat flour

  • ½ cup (50g) ground almonds

  • ¼ cup (40g) cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ cup (125ml) maple syrup, golden syrup or honey 

  •  ½ cup (125ml) coconut oil, melted

  • ¾ cup (180ml) milk, room temperature 

  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Icing:

  • 1.5 cups (225g) cashews, ​soaked in water for at least 8 hours.

  • 1/3 cup (5 tbsp) coconut oil, melted

  • ¼ cup (4 tbsp) maple syrup ​
    or another liquid sweetener, use more or less to taste

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder

2) Matcha Shortbread Men With White Chocolate Piping

What is Great About This Recipe: 

  1. Irresistibly buttery and sweet! 

  2. A Matcha-tastic twist on traditional gingerbread men! 

  3. Easy to make and decorate!

Ingredients:

  • 14 tbsp unsalted butter (or vegan substitute)

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 250 g (2 cups) *all purpose gluten free flour (may sub all purpose wheat flour)

  • 2 tbsp matcha

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 4 oz. white chocolate

AP GLUTEN FREE FLOUR (yields 250g):

  • 185g superfine white rice flour

  • 42g potato starch

  • 18g tapioca starch

  • 5g non fat dry milk powder (non dairy substitute almond flour)
